Avelo Airlines Launches Four New Routes With Base Opening at Lakeland International Airport

LAKELAND, Fla.; Oct. 24, 2024 — Avelo Airlines today opened its sixth base of operations at Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport (LAL), conveniently located between Tampa and Orlando. Avelo also launches its first four new routes using Lakeland-based aircraft. Affordable, one-way fares start at $46*.

Beginning this week, Avelo will launch four new nonstop routes from LAL: Charlotte / Concord (USA), Boston / Manchester, N.H. (MHT), Rochester, N.Y. (ROC), and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU). LAL will serve as Avelo’s Central Florida base, as an extension of Orlando International Airport (MCO). This dual operation enables Avelo to significantly expand its affordable, convenient and reliable air service in Central Florida. Avelo will initially base one aircraft at LAL.

Avelo will begin three more routes from Lakeland in November: Atlanta (ATL), Hartford, Conn. (BDL), and Philadelphia / Wilmington, Del. (ILG) bringing the total number of routes from LAL to eight, joining Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN).
