KALAMAZOO, Mich.; Oct. 26, 2022 — Avelo Airlines makes its Michigan debut today with exclusive nonstop service from Kalamazoo to Orlando — introducing a new era of affordable, convenient and reliable air travel for Southwest Michigan.  

Avelo’s inaugural flight will be christened this afternoon with a ceremonial water cannon salute performed by the Kalamazoo / Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) Fire Department during the aircraft’s taxi prior to takeoff. Customers will be joined by airport and airline executives, community officials and business leaders to celebrate Avelo’s first AZO departure. Tonight, Avelo will also begin flying to Orlando from Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport (LAN).
